Transferring a domain name can seem rather intimidating if you haven't done it before, but do not panic! Transferring a domain name is actually a pretty simple process!
For .uk domains
(.co.uk/.org.uk/.me.uk etc)
Transferring a .uk domain name is generally considered to be easier than transferring a non .uk domain name. There are only two steps to complete: place an order with us, then ask your current registrar to change your IPS tag to TUCOWS-CA. Chkserv do not charge you for transferring your .uk domain name.
What's an IPS tag?
Every Nominet registrar has what is known as an IPS tag (The exact meaning of IPS has been lost to history ).
Chkserv uses the IPS tag TUCOWS-CA (all uppercase).

For non .uk domains
(.com/.net/.org/.biz/.info/.us etc)
Transferring a non .uk domain name has a few additional steps compared to a .uk domain name and there are a few additional rules that have been set by ICANN that we need to follow before we are able to facilitate a domain name transfer.
How do I transfer my domain name?
- Login to your Chkserv Client Portal
- Go to Store > Transfer Domain To Us
- Follow the instructions.
